11 Months

Lots of photos this month as we've been busy!!

Stella is learning & growing so fast...and crawling all over the place at some speed! She loves being outdoors but she'd rather be crawling than be carried. Stella is now fully in the 'cruising' phase & is walking with anything she can find for support.

Stella now says 'Bye Bye' whilst waving.. her first word(s)!!!! :)

No teeth have popped out yet, but we found out that my brother, sister and I all didn't get teeth before we were a year old either! That doesn't mean that we haven't had some sleep disruption because of the little teeth, with other teething symptoms like not wanting to eat her food, a raised temperature, extreme clingy and tearfulness...

Sleep is a little better - 1 to 2 wakings a night, except for a few nights that she's kept us up all night by waking every 20 to 40 mins.

Although she loves fiddling with the food in our plates, Stella doesn't have a lot of things she will reliably eat:
  • For breakfast she usually has mashed banana with double cream Greek yoghurt, and some Banana Porridge (by Hipp Organic). At the end of this month I started giving her cow's milk in her porridge instead of formula (the last 2 months) - I pumped milk for her breakfast before that.
  • She eats a little bit of bread / baby rice cakes / fruit / yoghurt  for lunch
  • Supper is pretty much porridge again... some yoghurt / fruit as she won't eat anything else.
She has eaten or at least tasted chicken, lamb, beef, some veg and other things off our plates. She ate peas one afternoon at her Aunty T's house that Gracie fed her, but hasn't ingested a pea since then! She just spits them out!

Here is our photo & video journal of the last month:

8 Months

What a busy month it has been!

Stella has been a busy little girl! ..she is learning so much every day -- she can wave back, clap, shake her head & have 'conversations' (a sound from her - copied by me -- it's actually more a call and response game than a conversation at this point!). She has also become more interested in toys and gets excited when she sees certain ones. Shakers still remain her favorite!

On the 10th of April, Stella got a new Cousin: James!

We've been spending lots of time at Fish Hoek
(Dad and Stella at lunch)

..and Stella discovered Dollies!
(Thank you Gracie for lending us your dollie for the visit)

A cold May day... tea at The Bluewater Cafe, Imhoff Farm

Stella watching the world through the window

We went on our first proper holiday with Stella this past week... we drove to Mossel Bay to visit Nanny and Bumpa where Stella crawled properly for the first time!

We had tea with Gogo:
Stella with Great Granny Gogo

From there we went to Plettenberg Bay area & stayed at a lovely place in  the 'Crags'...

We went on a beautiful forest walkway walk

We had lunch with JW and Eloise & met little Luka for the first time.
Stella shared her toys with him...

Being on holiday can be so tiring!

Lovely lunch near the Mohair shop
We went to MonkeyLand (which was amazing) and then on  to Jeffreys Bay...

We stayed at a really great self-catering
place called the Zen Guesthouse

While we were in the area, we took a trip out to Cape St.Francis
